Helen Keller
This week I have been learning about Helen Keller. She lived in Tuscumbia, Alabama. At one and a half she became very sick and ill. She lost her hearing and vision. When Helen got older her parents knew they needed help so they hired a tutor. Her name was Anne. She was strict but she had alot of energy. It was amazing what Helen could do when she was deaf and could not see. She wrote books and helped with the braille system and inspired movies. One day Anne had a good idea she told Helen to put one of her hands under the water and in her other hand Anne spelled w-a-t-e-r. Then she said touch the ground and Anne spelled e-a-r-t-h in her other hand .That day Helen learnd 30 words. One night when Helen was asleep she died. It was 1968 and she was 87.
